Kelly Wunsch
Kelly Wunsch played professional baseball for 14 years for four different organizations after being drafted in the 1st round of the 1993 amateur draft out of Texas A&M. After a long stint in the minors with the Milwaukee Brewers, he eventually amassed five and a half years in the major leagues in 6 seasons with the White Sox (2000-2004) and the Dodgers (2005), posting a career ERA of 3.76.
Kelly finished 5th place in Rookie of the Year voting in 2000, tying Steve Kline of the Expos for most appearances (83) that season and setting a rookie record for appearances the White Sox. Those appearances didn't include the thee post season outings he recorded as part of the 2000 AL Central Division winning White Sox.
Since retiring in 2007 after spending spring training with the Astros organization, he's co-owned and operated a custom home building company here in Austin. Kelly also does local radio and TV broadcasting with the Round Rock Express. He is and his beautiful wife Jessica have two sons, Fischer (7) and Reece (5).
