Frequently asked questions

What is On Deck All Stars?

We’ll field teams for late spring/summer competition in local Rec+ and select tournament in various age brackets. Teams will consist of 10-11 players at similar skill levels who will compete against teams around the Austin Area.

What is Austin Select Baseball?

Austin Select runs tournaments throughout the Austin area and also fields the Hill Country Select Baseball Teams.

Where will the teams play?

Tournaments will play in and around the greater Austin area in areas such as Dripping Springs, downtown Austin and other locations.

How much will we play?

A minimum of 4 tournaments with 3 game minimums each. We will try to get teams into as many as 6 tournaments if possible.

My son doesn’t have a lot of playing experience, will this help?

The more kids play the game with solid coaching, the more they improve. Playing in this intense, 8-10 week program will help every player improve and reach towards their potential.

My son made “All Stars” at our league – can he still play?

Yes, but we don’t recommend it. Tournaments will be played on most of the same weekends, you’ll have the expenses of two teams and League all star teams don’t provide the paid, professional coaching that On Deck All Stars provide.

My son plays a specific position and only wants to play that, is that ok?

No – young players need to play in multiple positions to learn different skills, improve their game and see where they excel. Most high school players today play in multiple positions and grew up playing that way. Our philosophy is to have players ready to play, whenever they are called on to play.

Did On Deck All Stars Play last year?

No, this is our introductory year! We strongly believe that paid, professional coaching will help your player raise their game to the next level!
